Joseph McDavid is thrilled and honored to be a member of the Polite Piggy’s Camp family. Prior to working with Polite Piggy’s Camp, he worked with DCPS at Maury Elementary School as an Educational Aid and Substitute Teacher. He also worked at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington D.C. as an Educational Aid. He played an integral role there in designing and leading the after-school care and summer camp programs. He is a lifelong resident of Prince George’s County and a graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School. He excelled in playing football and played flute in the wind ensemble. He has attended University of Maryland Baltimore County, Prince George’s Community College, and University of Maryland University College He aspires to complete his bachelor’s degree in marketing at UMUC. Joseph has worked in the restaurant industry in a service as well as management capacity. However, he has always been passionate about working with children and serving the community. This is his first year working with Polite Piggy’s Camp and DCPS, and he is exhilarated by the prospect of a long career working with children. He embraces the opportunity to collaborate with the SWS community in order to improve the lives of children by providing enriching care that complements the unique educational style of School Within A School.
